Cookies We Set, and Why
None, and there is no why. This site sets no cookies at all, first party or third party. The rest of this page covers the one thing we do store, why it needs no consent banner, and what would change the answer.
This is not a template. It is the result of an audit run on 27 August 2026 against the built site, in a real browser with a clean profile, alongside a sweep of the source for every storage API and third-party host the code can reach. If you arrived here from what a conservatory costs, that page sets nothing on your device either.

The one thing we store on your device
| Name | cc.funnel.v1 |
|---|---|
| Type | sessionStorage, not a cookie. It is never attached to a request, so it is not sent to us or to anybody else as you browse |
| What it holds | The answers you gave the calculator about your conservatory: the roof problem, the current roof, the roof you want, the style, the frame material, the size band, the timescale, whether you own the property, the type of work and your postcode |
| What it never holds | Your name, email address, phone number or street address. Those are personal data and they do not go into browser storage at all |
| How long it lasts | It dies when you close the tab, and it clears itself after six hours even if the tab stays open |
| Why it exists | So that if you answer the calculator and then use a form on another page, you are not asked the same questions a second time |
| How to get rid of it | Close the tab. Or clear site data for this site in your browser settings, which removes it immediately |
The stored answers describe a roof, not a person. That single line is what keeps this site banner-free, and if it ever stops being true the banner appears.
Why there is no cookie banner
Storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you actually asked for does not need consent, under regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Remembering the answers you just typed, so a form does not ask for them twice, is exactly that. Nothing here measures you, profiles you or follows you to another website, so there is nothing to opt into, and we are not going to put a banner in front of you to imply otherwise.
No analytics, no advertising, nothing borrowed
We run no analytics tag in your browser. We set no advertising or measurement cookies. We do not track you across other websites, we do not build a profile of you, and we sell nothing about your browsing to anyone. What happens to details you deliberately type into a form is a different question, and the privacy policy answers it field by field.
The site also loads nothing from another company's servers. No fonts, no scripts, no images, no embeds, no maps, no video players, no chat widget, no social buttons. The two typefaces here were served by Google until 27 August 2026, which set no cookie but did send your IP address to Google before you had agreed to anything. They are now files on our own server. That was confirmed by measuring the requests a browser actually makes, not by reading the code and hoping.
One third party is reachable, and only where a form is on the page: the box that checks you are not a robot is Cloudflare Turnstile. It was chosen over Google reCAPTCHA precisely because it sets no cookies. Keeping automated submissions away from a paid partner is a necessity rather than a preference, so it needs no consent either.
What would change this page
This is a statement about a build, and builds change. Any one of these would make it out of date, and every one of them is a cookie banner: a client-side analytics tag, an embedded video or map, a chat widget, a social share button that loads a script, an A/B testing tool, a heatmap recorder, or any advertising pixel. We re-run the audit before launch and after any change that adds a script or an embed, and this page is rewritten from the result rather than left standing.
The rest of the site is covered by our terms, and about us says who publishes it. If you have measured something here that contradicts this page, please contact us and we will re-run the audit.
