Your Data and Who Receives It

Reading this site collects nothing about you. When you fill in a form, your details go to a named lead partner and then to installers. This page says exactly which fields go where, and how to stop it.

This site is a price publisher and a lead generation site. The second half is the part that matters here: when you ask for quotes, we pass your details to a company that sells them to installers, and we are paid for the introduction. We name that company in full below, and our disclosure page covers who we pass your details to and what we are paid for it. If you only want the research, the conservatory cost pages ask nothing of you at all.

Who is responsible for your data

conservatorycost.co.uk is published and operated by a sole trader in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for everything described on this page. There is no limited company behind the site, so there is no company registration number to give you.

What we collect

In three groups, because they behave differently. Only the second group is personal data in the ordinary sense, and it is asked for last.

1. Your answers about the conservatory

The roof problem, the current roof, the roof you want, the style, the frame material, the size band, your timescale, whether you own the property, the type of work and your postcode. Until you submit a form, these live only in your own browser, in a single sessionStorage entry that dies with the tab. They describe a roof rather than a person.

2. Your contact details, asked at the last step

First name, last name, email address, telephone number, house name or number, street address, town, county or region, postcode, and the best time to call you. The short enquiry form on our guide pages also takes a free-text message, capped at 2,000 characters, and both forms carry a marketing opt-in box that starts unticked.

3. What is recorded automatically when you submit

The page you submitted from, the date and time in UTC, your IP address, your browser's user agent string, the exact consent wording you were shown and its version id, the build id of the form, the estimate you were shown, and the routing outcome for your postcode. Most of that exists for one reason: so that what you agreed to, and what you were told before you agreed, can be reconstructed later by you as well as by us.

We do not ask your date of birth, your income, your employment, or anything that counts as special category data under the UK GDPR. There is no account and no password. One decision is made automatically: your postcode is checked against a coverage file to work out whether the enquiry can be passed to the roof network, to the replacement glazing network, or to nobody. It has no legal effect on you, it never stops you seeing your estimate, and if you disagree with the outcome you can tell us.

Who receives it

RecipientWhat they get, and why
Leads 2 Trade Limited
Company number 05987279. ICO registration Z9692711, as published in the footer of Compare Companies, a site they operate
Your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, house number, street address, town and region, plus a notes field and two reference fields. The notes field carries your answers about the conservatory, the estimate we showed you, and the consent block described below. They are our lead partner and they sell enquiries to installers.
Installers in their networkUp to four of them, for a single enquiry, so that one of them can call you and book a free survey or quotation visit. We do not choose which.
GoogleThe enquiry is written to a Google Sheet we control, through a Google Apps Script endpoint. That sheet is our record of it, and it is what lets us answer a question from you later.
PurelymailA copy is emailed to our own inbox through Purelymail, our mail provider, so that a failure of the sheet cannot lose an enquiry.
CloudflareThe check that you are not a robot is Cloudflare Turnstile. Your IP address and a single-use token are sent to Cloudflare to verify it. It sets no cookies, which is why it was chosen.
Google AnalyticsOur server can report that an enquiry was received. That event carries the routing outcome, the coverage state and the estimate figure, and no name, email address, phone number or address. It only fires when a Google Analytics cookie already exists in your browser, and this site sets none, so as things stand it does not fire at all.

That is the complete list. We do not pass your details to data brokers, advertisers or list buyers, and there is no other partner behind the one named above. Passing them to Leads 2 Trade in exchange for a fee is, in ordinary language, selling them, and we would rather write that than call it sharing.

If your postcode falls outside the conservatory roof network, the enquiry may instead be routed to the same partner's replacement window and door network, and the consent wording you see before you submit says so explicitly. If it can go to nobody, we tell you that on screen, we keep our own record of it, and it is passed to no one.

Our lawful basis for each of those

What we doLawful basis
Pass your details to Leads 2 Trade and its installer networkYour consent, UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a), given by pressing a submit button underneath wording that names them. Consent is the button, not a pre-ticked box
Email or text you about this siteYour separate consent under regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, from a box that starts unticked and that you never have to tick
Keep our own record of the enquiry and the consentOur legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f): being able to prove what you were shown and what you agreed to, and to answer a query or a complaint from you afterwards
Check a submission is not automatedOur legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f): keeping fraudulent and automated submissions away from a paid partner and away from installers

This is worth stating because it is unusual. Leads 2 Trade's system has no field for consent anywhere in it. Rather than send your details onward with no record of what you agreed to, we write a consent block into the free-text notes that travel with the enquiry: the version id of the wording, the build id of the form, the timestamp, your IP address, the page URL, and the wording you were shown reproduced word for word.

Two consequences follow, and both are deliberate. An enquiry that reaches our server without that wording attached is stored and emailed to us but is never passed to anyone. And a live consent version is never edited: if the wording changes, it gets a new version id, so a lead can always be traced back to the exact sentence its sender agreed to.

How long we keep it

We keep the record in the sheet, and the copy in our inbox, for as long as we need it: to answer a question from you, to evidence the consent you gave, to deal with a complaint, and to keep the postcode record that tells us where there is demand we cannot yet serve. We have not set a fixed deletion date and will not invent one to make this page look tidier. When we do set one, it appears here first.

If you ask us to delete your record we delete it, within one month as the UK GDPR requires and usually the same week. Leads 2 Trade, and any installer who received your enquiry, hold their own copies under their own policies. Deleting ours does not delete theirs, so if you want it gone everywhere you have to ask them too, and we will give you the reference we hold to make that request answerable.

Your rights, and how to withdraw consent

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of everything we hold about you, free, within one month;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • restrict what we do with it, or object to it;
  • hand it over in a portable form, or send it to somebody else.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, and it must be as easy to withdraw as it was to give. Tell us and we will stop. What withdrawal cannot do is un-send an enquiry that has already gone: if yours has, we will tell you so, give you the reference the partner returned for it, and that reference is what makes a deletion request to them straightforward to answer.

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first, because we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, and you do not need our permission to do that.

Leads 2 Trade is a UK company and the installers are UK businesses. Google and Cloudflare are headquartered in the United States, so part of that processing happens outside the UK, under the transfer safeguards those providers publish in their own data processing terms.

This site is for adults arranging work on a home they own. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18, and the first thing the form establishes is whether you own the property.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies at all, first party or third party, and runs no analytics tag in your browser. The single item of functional storage it does use, what it holds, how long it lasts and why it needs no consent banner are all set out in the cookie policy, which is written from an audit of the built site rather than from a template.

How to reach us, and changes to this policy

For anything about your data, use the postal address or the email address at the top of this page. For anything else, contact us is the route. The page about conservatorycost.co.uk says who publishes it and why, and our terms of use cover the rest of the site.

If we change what we collect, or who receives it, we change this page before the change goes live, not after. This version is dated 27 August 2026.
