What does it cost to replace conservatory windows?
Between £150 and £450 for a glass panel, installed and including VAT, and £80 to £250 for a polycarbonate one. A sealed unit that has misted rather than broken is a different line again at £55 to £400 per pane. Every figure below is per pane or per panel, and the number of panes is yours to count.

The first three rows come from the same repair dataset, the best single one in UK public data for this kind of work, and two of the three are a single publisher, so they are graded Thin. The fourth row is a manufacturer list price for supply only, derived as £1,500 plus VAT, carrying no publication date and capped at Thin for that reason; it is here because it is the route people are sold when panels cannot be reglazed and the frames go too. Nobody publishes a price for the whole job
Our register holds 222 price rows and not one of them prices reglazing a whole conservatory. The roof is priced by size band in six or seven places; the walls are priced by the pane in one. That asymmetry is real and it is worth knowing before you ring anyone, because it means any total you are shown for a whole conservatory is somebody's arithmetic rather than a published figure, ours included.
So here is ours, with the working shown. Count the glazed panels in your walls. Take a 3m by 3m lean-to with eight of them, at the glass panel row of £150 to £450 each (Thin evidence, one publisher, 27 July 2026, checked 20 August 2026): eight at £150 is £1,200, eight at £450 is £3,600. That total is derived, not sourced. The eight is an assumption we have made to demonstrate the sum and not a claim about your conservatory; change it to your own count and the answer changes with it. Two things reliably push the real number above the top of that sum: a single-pane visit still carries a minimum charge, so one pane never costs an eighth of eight, and any pane in a critical location has to be safety glass rather than the cheapest sheet that fits.

Misted units: two publishers, three times apart
A blown unit is the commonest single reason people arrive at this page, and it is also the one figure here where two publishers genuinely disagree. A UK quote comparison site prices it at £55 to £145 per pane, 11 July 2026. A UK trades marketplace prices it at £150 to £400 per pane, 27 July 2026. Sixteen days apart, roughly three times apart, and both live, which is why the row is graded Reasonably evidenced and conflicted rather than Thin. Checked 20 August 2026.
The reconciliation is a scope difference rather than an error, and it decides which end you should expect. The lower band reads as the glass alone, cut and fitted back into a frame that is sound, with the beads and gaskets reused. The upper band reads as a full unit swap including the labour and any bead or gasket work the frame turns out to need once it is open. Ask which of the two you are being quoted for, in writing, before the visit: it is the same question as asking whether a price is supply only, and it moves the number by more than any other variable on this page. We publish both bands and no midpoint, because a midpoint here would be a figure nobody has ever charged.
Frame material comes before glass
Panes are replaceable while the frames that hold them are sound, and the frame is the part that quietly sets the ceiling on this job. uPVC has a published lifespan of “usually 20 years or more” from the Glass and Glazing Federation. Timber has a published service life of over 60 years from the Wood Window Alliance, typically with an eight-year paint warranty. For aluminium there is no general UK industry figure at all, and we will not publish one: that absence is a finding, not an oversight. All three are verified as at 20 August 2026 and set out with their prices on conservatory frame materials and prices .
Thermally, the frame material matters more than most sales conversations admit. SAP 10.2 gives aluminium a whole-window U-value of 2.1 W/m²K against 1.7 for uPVC and timber, and aluminium needs a thermal break to get there, which is the opposite of what the trade usually implies. If the frames are failing rather than the glass, reglazing is money spent on the wrong component, and the manufacturer list row in the table above is the shape of what comes next.
Roof glazing is a different job
Everything above is about the walls. Glazing in the roof plane is priced differently, fitted differently and regulated differently, and mixing the two is the commonest reason a quote and an expectation do not meet. For context rather than as this page's answer: a glass roof up to 3m by 3m runs £2,000 to £7,000 installed including VAT, Reasonably evidenced across four publishers, and the published premium for choosing glass over polycarbonate like for like is £500 to £1,000, a single-source figure dated 15 August 2024 and graded Thin. When the units have gone, all of them
One blown pane is a repair. Four blown panes in the same season is a message about age, and it changes the arithmetic completely, because at £150 to £450 each (Thin evidence, one publisher, 27 July 2026, checked 20 August 2026) you can reach the price of something structural without buying anything structural.
We cannot tell you how long a sealed unit lasts before it mists. That figure is marked as needing a source in our own register and we have not found a UK publisher who states one, so the honest version is: nobody we can cite has published it. What we can say is what the frames around them are published to last, which is the practical proxy, and it is set out alongside every other component on how long does a conservatory last?
When new glass fixes it, and when it only delays it
Reglazing is the right answer when the panes have failed and everything holding them has not: clear frames, sound seals at the head and cill, no movement, and a roof you are content with. It is the wrong answer in two specific cases, and both are common enough to name.
If the room is unusable because it is cold rather than because it is cloudy, new panes in the walls will not change that, because the heat is leaving through the roof. Insulating the roof you already own is the cheaper of the two ways to fix it and is priced separately at conservatory roof insulation cost.
If the roof is tired as well, spending the £1,200 to £3,600 derived above on wall panes before addressing it is buying the second thing first. The whole-roof job is a different size of decision, it is the one with four independent publishers behind it rather than one, and what a conservatory roof replacement costs is where those figures live.
The regulation that does apply to a pane. A conservatory under 30 m² at ground level is an exempt building under Schedule 2 Class 7, but the exemption is conditional, and one of the conditions in Approved Document L para 0.14 is that the glazing still complies with Part K. In practice: glazing in a door, or in a side panel within 300 mm of a door edge, is in a critical location from floor level to 1500 mm; glazing in walls and windows away from doors is critical from floor level to 800 mm. Critical locations need Class 3 of BS EN 12600 or Class C of BS 6206, and Class 2 or Class B where a pane is wider than 900 mm.
